Merchant City Festival

The Festival is always good fun, and this is the first one since the pandemic, so we headed into the city to meet C and K and have a look around.

Lots of fun, lots of stalls, lots of entertainment.  The gymnastic girls were just fabulous, and the children's entertainer in the Merchant Square had the children enthralled, with lots of dance and movement.  It was funny to watch the children trying to master the moves for YMCA, all the adults could do it and were trying to teach the children.  Some mastered it, some didn't.

I took a walk around to photograph some of the street art on the gable ends of the buildings in the area, always of interest.  Amazing talent on these.

The pubs and coffee houses were all very busy and we couldn't get a table so ended up getting a carry out from one of the stalls.  I asked for a cool drink and the girls got me freshly squeezed orange juice, just wonderful and a great reminder of holidays in Spain.

The girls in crinolines were blowing bubbles to all the children to add to the fun atmosphere.

We passed a group of policemen who were advertising the nearby Police Museum.  We have already been there, but were surprised to meet a friend, an ex Police Inspector who is a walker and climber in EK.  We accompanied him on his last Munro several years ago, along with a busload of others, so we had a good chat.

We headed home reluctantly and the bus seemed to take ages to get up the hill!  We did enjoy the day.  (Extras)
