another Grandchild Portrait

Tatum is the third grandchild to indulge her Nanna with a joint portrait in this what I called our last summer at the island.   I’m not seeing that happening to be honest, so maybe we will be here again.  If we are still kicking next year.    But I’m recording the grandkids just the same.  Tatum at 18, is the least tall …but this pix is cheating as the beach is sloped…however Nanna is indeed shrinking.   ( The extra is a bit more accurate size wise …,too shadowy but such a funny pix with maple in the air) .  It’s great she had some time to be here!   she was my very first blip when she was 6!

It’s the “august long weekend “ in Canada.   It seems Canada has a convenient 3 day weekend holiday every month and there wasn’t anything special now so it’s called a “civic” holiday.  Every province has its own name….here it’s British Columbia Day.    Usually people take the Friday off before the holiday and often leave on Thursday…. They may not return til Tuesday …so the joke is you had better do the important business on Wednesday of those weeks!   Ha!  This  one is billed as “head for the cottage “ ..and indeed I see a  boat at the little round Charles island nw of us…. The boards that I saw were still up yesterday are now down …yea!   But hey, these are Americans. 

We are leaving tomorrow…but we’ll be back in as little as 5 days!   Just might catch that 4th,  the oldest and tallest, grandchild yet,to complete the set .
