St Cuthbert’s Cave

This is reckoned to be one of the places the disinterred remains of St Cuthbert and associated relics were rested overnight, as his followers fled Lindisfarne after yet another Viking raid. It’s a spectacular and atmospheric location, just beside Greensheen Hill in Northumberland.
