We're down in Essex this weekend visiting a poorly relative.

I love coming to my parents house after a long absence as the photos of the children and family that I've taken over the past few weeks and months are normally printed out and on the family wall of fame.

On this most recent visit, mum had installed a more permanent fixture on the wall and her favourite photos (old and new) were on display.

It's a great reminder of one of the true purposes of photography: to capture and preserve those precious split-second moments in life.
