Hydrangea
The day started cold and windy but by afternoon the sun shone, it was lovely and warm and the bees were busy.
Hydrangea flower heads always interest me with the two types of flowers but they don’t seem to attract bees and it seems that it is because in the variety we have the outer large flowers are sterile.
The same can’t be said about Globe Thistles- they were certainly attracting bees dashing around the multiple little flowers. I have 3 clumps of them in the garden and the one in the 2nd extra has produced about 40 stalks this year !
