Rainford cricket

Went over to the cricket match at Rainford as my nephew Mark was playing in an important match. It was lovely seeing him his wife Claire and their little boy Freddie who is just 1. Alison had made a lovely picnic. Eve joined us as well as some friends of Mark and Claire from Sheffield. The match was halted at about 4.30pm as the air ambulance landed in the field as there had been a shooting at the pub 100 yards away at a christening. Awful to think of that happening so close. No one could leave the match and the friends had to miss going to visit their brother. Eventually we were allowed to leave but as I left I had to give my details to the police. Don't know what the visiting team from Gloucestershire will think of it all. Unfortunately Rainford lost so there is no Lords visit in September.
