All alone

A very quiet day in which I did some valuable (I hope) reading about the use of antipsychotics.

On the way home, I called in at Western Springs, and walked around the lake. A solitary Weweia caught my attention some distance out from the shore. Despite waiting long enough for this one to dive a couple of times, no other Weweia surfaced. 

The reason it is solitary may be that it is a juvenile, and parents are elsewhere with younger chicks. The pattern on the back of its head tells that it is a juvenile,
