Plenty for lunch.

August 1st. A sunny morning and more insects are appearing. Went out looking at them on Knapweed and Hogweed. Plenty of flies, some bees and some hoverflies. I don’t have a macro lens as I normally use my Lumix bridge camera. In bright sunshine and with dereriorating eyesight resulting from old age, I find it difficult to see in the camera whether what I am taking is in focus.

This one is in the garden and I found it much easier to take using my iPad which is surprisingly good.
I think it is a type of Hoverfly called a Drone fly ( Eristalis) but I would be very happy to be corrected.
