The funeral was this afternoon. Fortunately we could go too. When his wife died last year, even so suddenly, there was still Covid-19 with all its restrictions. This time we all, the closest neighbours could also be there.
We talked about the cat left behind and our memories of living side by side. It had been a long time. We're not particularly close to our neighbours, but we've all grown used to each other, or rather, become attached to each other.

Now we all have to get used to the idea that they are both gone.
