After a very slow start to the Butterfly season, today was a great day. I drove out to one of my favourite spots - just a roadside verge which usually seems good for them. Today I got a good haul, which included my first Small Coppers of the year and as a very special bonus, I got a “lifer” in the form of a Purple Hairstreak - sadly not a great photo as I just got the one chance with my phone, but I’m putting it in extras anyway.
