STAR Bug Hotel

A beautiful sunny day

My wife volunteers at Siblings Together and Apart (STAR), which occupies a field in North Fife. Normally they provide a fun place for siblings who are cared for separately to come together to spend time together in the open air. Today, however, they welcomed a large group of families who need support for a much appreciated day out. I went along to help out with lunch and generally making sure everyone was enjoying themselves.

One of the things my wife has been doing over the weeks is to construct a Bug Hotel. The children bring leaves and bark to fill the spaces, so that bugs get attracted. The structure is made up of pallets and it is a cause of fun for the children. My wife is being the Hotel Manager for the day.
