Train to Mallaig

Not The Jacobite! I hasten to add. fully booked and John and I  decided not to queue for spare tickets. Booked a table seat so we could enjoy scenery. We got on to coach A to find our seat had been double booked by a bus tour company!!! Guard shouted there were 4 coaches so plenty of room!  If you wanted to stagger back along a packed train. I was extremely annoyed as we were on odd seats with no view. as soon as we left the train, i was looking for somewhere to eat it being 1.30pm. Walked right in to The Tea Gardens. We were given a table outside, which was lovely. Settled down to Haddock and chips plus glass of wine. After we had a 99 ice cream. Weather was lovely, strolled round the harbour. This was John's first visit to Lochaber. See extras. Jacobite was in Fort William then again at Mallaig. Best of both really. Found Western Isles cruise vessel is still looking good. I called into the office, asked of Tommy who was the Skipper, retired last year, but us locals can still use our bus pass, to cross to Inverie and Tarbet on the post run. Suffice to say we were on the platform to make sure we got out table seat on return journey!!
