Blessed Rain
Ok, so many people would be less thrilled at having a day of drizzling rain, but after the recent heatwave and the subsequent uncomfortably humid period it is delightful to stand out in the rain. Which we did, this morning before breakfast. And again, later, when we went for our afternoon walk.
The diary is packing out again... meeting tonight of the railway opposition working group, bbq tomorrow (sunshine tomorrow, ok?), MOT on the camper van on Thursday then Friday I take the e-bike to a local bike tech where they'll fix the bottom bracket on behalf of the manufacturer. Before you know it, the weekend's here again!
I see one of the numpty contenders for prime minister of the week has resiled from her statement that she would pay less to public servants oop north... now we wait to see if she still thinks it's a vote winner to ignore the Scottish First Minster. The other thinks it's equally enticing to charge a tenner for missed doctors appointments, forgetting how hard it is to get one in the first place.
No wonder they're getting rid of "Mock the Week". Political satire is almost impossible in Britain nowadays... can we really have to wait two more years for a general election?
