Troot

I am not greatly fond of the beetroot in the jars you find in the supermarket, but my Dad always made it himself with various vinegars, onion, sugar and spices and I did like his.  We had some for tea tonight and it was as delicious as ever. I agree it is easier and less messy buying a jar but home made is worth the effort.
