What a cutie

We were up fairly early and picked up a breakfast from Cobbs cafe. We drove down to Loch Morlich to eat it looking at the view across the loch to the mountains.
We then drove up to first carpark and took some photos of the view when we must have spooked a Roedeer Buck when rain up the hill amongst the Heather. I tried to spot it again but could not see it again. I walked back to where it had ran from and then a doe ran off. I wonder if there was a fawn nearby but I could not see it.
We were just going to pop to the loos and grab a take away drink from the cafe up abit further but there are now barriers up and you have to pay £3 so we just parked along the road for a while. Lots of wildflowers including red and white clover , harebells and gentians.
Next stop was Loch an Eilein. Beautiful and the weather was perfect. The little shop was open and I bought some lovely vintage hand embroidered tray cloths for just £1 each.
We had a great walk down to a little cottage which has a bench next to it so we sat for quite some time just listening to the birds enjoying the sunshine. We were lucky to spot a few red squirrels and the one pictured ran across a branch next to us. Another squirrel had been eating cherries from one of the trees.I had seen the branches moving and was not sure if it was a wood pigeon but then the squirrel did a massive leap across the path to another tree and then it was away.
We walked back and had an ice lolly sitting on a bench next to some overgrown ground that was full of butterflies including small heath, common blue, skipper, ringlets and Scotch Argus :)
A good drive home before it started raining so good timing :)
