310 Of 365: The Glass Blower And The Lathe
Stopped off at the National Glass Centre on the way home, after a visit down south to some factory outlets.
This was a demonstration of blowing a glass bubble, from a length of glass tube. A potential customer had asked the centre for some samples of lightweight glass bubbles at various sizes.
The tube was heated and formed into a bubble by blowing air into it. I've never seen this style of working with a lathe and glass blowing before. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement.
