Striding edge

We did sharp edge a couple of weeks ago, and wanted to do all the grade 1 scrambles in the lakes this year. So today we went over Striding edge, up to Hellvellyn, back over swirrel edge, over Catstycam and back to Glenridding. As we were descending Swirril edge, the air ambulance and coastguard helicopters started flying in, and 5 mountain rescue land rovers turned up with many personnel (17). Apparently a lady had fallen off striding edge and sustained “serious injuries” and was airlifted to hospital.
