Earwax

A problem for old people with hearng aids. Five years ago you could have it cleared free on the Natonal Health Service. Unfortunately this is one of the fringe services which has been discontinued.
So a large private dewaxing industry has rapidly appeared. So I finally had to take notice of the famous advertising slogan “ You should have gone to Specsavers”. I did. I would not go there for eye tests as we have an excellent local optician who has served us well for 25 years. But for dewaxing they were very good and even checked by phone with their head office that it was safe to use the mini vacuum cleaner on someone who has a shunt in their head. Result : hearing improved.

So what has this got to do with the photo ?

Well we had to park in the centre of Lancaster. If you pay an extra parking fee the City Council provides this service of trained Gulls which stand guard on your car whilst you are at the shops. I believe they get a bag of chips at the end of the day.
