Remnants of rain…..

July 2022 was the wettest month in Blenheim on record. We had over 220 mm of rain which caused several floods in the Taylor River. The largest flood had waters running from bank to bank in some stretches of the river. How high was the flood water? The plants in the left side of this image still have grass debris entangled in their tops. It was a scary sight and we are very grateful that the stopbanks prevented severe flooding in town. Thank you to past Councils and their rivers engineers.
