Tranquil end to the day

Another hot day in Kent and still very warm as the sun was setting this evening. A hosepipe ban will come into effect on Friday 12th August, understandable under the circumstances; the garden and the allotment will have to take their chances.

Another busy, uneventful day with various jobs brought to a conclusion. Booked another narrowboat holiday for next year. Discussed plans for California in January. Found a plumber who can come out tomorrow. Completed my competency assessment for working Northiam level crossing gates, awaiting the results.

Thank you for the suggestions as to the owner of yesterday’s deposit. Gull or goose perhaps. The only snags being that it was under a large apple tree and our garden is enclosed. Not much room for manoeuvring.
