The 10.18 to Edinburgh.....

....and the 11.18 to Edinburgh. Photographed at Peterborough about 12.01. About an hour and a half later the 10.18 departed. We were only trying to get to Newark for a family reunion meal. Got there in time for pudding eventually. 
Heading back the train from Newark was an hour late due to the aftermath of the earlier incident (damaged overhead power lines, again). Then got to Ely on the last leg back to Downham to find that our connection had been cancelled due to a faulty loco. 
All ended well as very helpful station staff sorted us a gratis taxi home. I can't fault the staff but who needs strikes when the rail system is falling apart anyway?
