Towards Dunblane

Witnessed a sad sight in the local shopping centre this afternoon. I had gone in to browse for some holiday gear (yes we have decided belatedly to go on holiday) when I noticed an elderly woman hunched in a wheelchair in a dark corner of one shop with her back to us. 
 
The shop manger came up and I asked if she was all right.
Yes, she said ,her family had left her there while they went shopping.
 
Now the Thistle shopping centre is bright and airy with lots of places for people to sit and wait, so why place her in a dark corner of a shop?
