A fairy lost a wing

I can't find the saying. I thought it was every time a child says she doesn't believe in Santa but apparently, that causes fairies to fall down dead. 
Rather drastic.

The co-worker I thought got Covid on his vacation in Spain? He got Covid. He feels better but fatigued. 

My neighbor with Covid tested negative today. We will celebrate her birthday with ice cream on the green. I took the opportunity to squirt Taffix in my nostrils. Just in case even though we'll be outside and it isn't needed. Felt fine. Granted, I have no irritation or inflammation in my nostrils, but the sensation was nearly imperceptible.

A metal artisan in Ukraine who used to make metal furniture for Europeans is now making anti-tank carriers to protect the local volunteer battalion and special iron stoves adapted to trenches to keep them warm. He's doing it for free and he's begun buying and converting beat-up cars into makeshift armored personnel carrier. He hoped to build another workshop with 25,000 euros worth of metal he bought, but he used it all in the first month of war. He made more than 500 stoves for fighters and bomb shelters and nearby towns and villages. Now the public brings him materials they have found. He's converted ten cars to send to the front. 

Ukraine hit a number of targets last night in southern Ukraine. They used the HIMARS on several Russian bases and arms warehouses were attacked in the Kherson Oblast. A Russian base was hit in Chornobaivka. Ukrainian forces said they hit an ammunition warehouse in Berislav, further up the Dnipro river from Kherson. The target was destroyed with multiple secondary explosions as stored ammunition detonated.The Ukrainians also reported three strikes on Russian "strongholds" in the Berislavsky and Bashtansky districts, along with another on an ammunition dump in the same area. Ukrainian forces have hit three bridges over the Dnipro, making it harder for the Russians to reinforce their troops in Kherson.

With all of this, you understand why Russia is afraid of the HIMARS. Russian soldiers blew up their own ammunition while unloading train cars under the cover of a smoke screen meant to hide the process from view and protect them from HIMARS attacks.

There was a photo shoot of Zelensky and his wife for Vogue magazine. Zelensky has been doing an outstanding job keeping the war in the media. People with nothing better to do have been criticizing the shoot including a picture where Mrs. Zelensky faces the camera, sitting on steps, resting her arms over her knees. The pose was described by critics as "unfeminine" and "too manly." Ukrainian journalist Zoya Zvynyatskivska launched the #SitLikeAGirl flash mob, inviting women to sit in the same pose. In a matter of three days, thousands of women joined the initiative —including Leibovitz.
