Open for business

Today Violet's sunflower was fully open and was quite busy with bees.  As she is away on holiday this week, I thought that I'd better make a photographic record in case it is past its best when she is next here.

In other news:  on the home front, yet another day has passed with a no show from the plumber, who promised us that he'd be here to do what is now a number of jobs.
On a more national level, the heat,  humidity but total lack of rain continues here in the South East of England although Thames Water have reassured us that there won't be a hosepipe ban or water shortage due to the large number of reservoirs that they have.  With not much else to do I looked it up:  they have 30 raw water reservoirs and 235 underground service reservoirs.  It does sound like quite a lot but truthfully I have no idea whether it is or not!
