Werkleitz in the Distance

A remote village on the banks of the lower river Saale, near its estuary (into the river Elbe). One of the hottest days of the year, the rivers suffering from seriously low water, today the lowest level of the Rhine ever at Emmerich was reported, ships can sail only half-laden. Shipping on the rivers Saale and Elbe have been completely stopped since years because of the continuously adverse conditions.
