Trevithick Day Camborne

Richard Trevithick was a steam engineer, he invented the first steam engine, it did not run on a railway track though, as Stevenson's did which came later.

As he came from near Camborne, they have a day to celebrate what he achieved, he also made static engines to pump water out of the tine mines that are all around this part of Cornwall. He lived from 13 April 1771 - 22 April 1833.

Today early it rained, then it was a lovely sunny but chilly day, which was good for all the many people that come to watch and all the stream engines, dancers, singers, bands, stalls, etc.
