Memories.....

......of our river cruise! One of the events on the cruise was a demonstration of glassblowing,  I must admit to being sceptical when I saw it on the programme  - how can they do that in the confines of a river cruise ship - but it was great! The man who gave the demonstration was called Karl Ittig, and he was amazing  - he could sell ice to Eskimos!!! He was absolutely fabulous, and we bought this glass paperweight. He brought lots of items with him for sale, all made in his studio in Wertheim. He has worked with Dale Chihuly and also each year goes to the States to give classes at some of the universities there.
