Competition or rejection?

Simon is here for the weekend and after a 2-hour bike ride* he did a load of jobs for me, one of which was building a desk for me in the lounge (so i don't have to use the spiral staircase) and this is where I am working now. It's actually quite nice being down here with everyone so thank you Simon.
At 6.30pm we went out for a drive and were fortunate to see a pair of hares chasing around a field - no actual boxing but close body encounters were seen from a distance. According to Wikipedia "For a long time, this had been thought to be intermale competition, but closer observation has revealed it is usually a female hitting a male to prevent copulation".
Yet another wonderful thing to see.

*The mad lad is preparing for the BC bike race a 7-day mountain bike race from Vancouver to Whistler from 29 June to 6 July. He is raising money for the MSA Trust. Unfortunately I won't be able to go and follow the race but Canadian blippers might like to go and have a look.
