Thought it was strange..

Our surveyor warned us a couple of months ago that the wood burner flue pipe was too close to the tree branches. We had asked our neighbour, yes that one, if he /we could trim it back to a safe distance. No reply naturally. However imagine how surprised we were to see it being cut back about a week ago. There was no way he was going to do that.
And then yesterday we realised what was happening. The street light wasn't working and the council needed to access the pole using one of those van mounted hydraulic platform lifts. So they needed quite a lot of room to manoeuvre the cradle into place to do the repairs.
We think maybe the farmer who sold us the house told the council about the light not working in order to get the pruning done. Big thanks to him then!
Meanwhile our neighbour is probably spitting blood!
