Eight to Hunstanton
Eight to Hunstanton
As I said yesterday Sue and I are on Swindon Grandchild duty this week. Today we again met with Fran and her two and traveled to Hunstanton. Yesterday we had Aiden’s friend Dan with us. Today as Nicki does not work on Friday afternoons we had her company.
I traveled with Frances and Nicki was in with Sue. We left around 4pm and got to ’Sunny Hunny’ around 17:20. We parked above the beach at old Hunstanton and proceeded to walk to the Fish and Chip shop in New Hunstanton
Absolutely wonderful on the beach. The fresh air and seeing the four grandchildren enjoying themselves is a tonic for life.
Here you see us near the wreck of the Steam Trawler Sheraton on the beach at Old Hunstanton. See Quote below about the trawler and a link for further reading.
After this we moved on to New Hunstanton for Fish and Chips that we eat on the grass overlooking the evening sunset over the sea. We all arrived back home at around 10:30 hence the late Blip for todays Photo Journal.
‘Quote from web :-
The wreck of the Sheraton, a trawler that was launched in 1907. Between 1915 and 1918 the trawler was used during boom defence work and in World War Two it served as a patrol vessel. In 1945 it became a target ship, before being wrecked in 1947. In 2004 the wreck was 38.5m long by 5.35m wide, with a substantial section of the metal hull surviving’.
