Finishing

With considerable trepidation I did my first Parkrun this morning which was surprisingly jolly good fun. I jogged around at a leisurely pace with a chap who used to run marathons so we both enjoyed reminiscing. His marathon pb was almost 2 hours better than mine so I was chuffed to beat him this morning by a couple of seconds. I then spent the rest of the morning googling about age related running times. 
I did feel a bit light headed at the halfway point and I remembered that because of the phone calls early this morning I had eaten nothing since 5pm yesterday. I will factor that in next week and hopefully knock another second off. All in all a highly effective distraction from weightier concerns.
And then out again to the post box I met a former colleague who I hadn’t seen in years so more nostalgic chat and plans to meet up for coffee and cake.
Three more days until the new fridge/freezer arrives. I think I can manage what’s left of the ice cream, the butternut squash may have to be composted.
