Eastern Tiger Swallowtail on Pink Thistle Bloom
We were in the Barrens. My husband was jogging and I was chasing butterflies. I went right to the spot with pink thistles where I saw all of those butterflies the last time I was there. The biggest one I found was this eastern tiger swallowtail, Papilio glaucus, which flitted about and seemed to dance its summer dance along the tops of the pink fuzzy blooms.
We need a dancing song, and here's a good one: Shakira, with Whenever, Wherever.
