Emotional day

Well, the end of this day was decidedly  better than the  beginning.  I'm still feeling very emotional .

Fletch had just finished his breakfast when he began shaking and lost his balance and had what we thought was a stroke.  Wed lost our first dog because of a stroke and we thought he was dying.
It was terrifying to watch and distressing to see my poor little dog looking so confused . All we could do was hold him and stroke him and try to comfort him and tried not to cry over him.
I phoned the vet and she asked questions about his symptoms and we arranged to go up for 2pm.
Then after about 40 minutes Fletch got up and walked out into the garden as if nothing had happened !  I couldn't believe it.

Of course we still took him up to the vets. He was trotting along and  was raring to go for his walk.
The vet gave him a good checkup and was sure he had Vestibular Disease.. The symptoms are like a bad case of vertigo but she was pleased that the incident hadnt lasted too long ( so were we!)
She said his right ear was infected and prescribed drops and steroids to reduce the inflammation.

We were so relieved although still concerned about him . He of course was more than happy to have a little walk. We were suffering from PTS
Photo is of our little chap looking rather bedraggled. He was due for a bath and a trim but I'll defer that .

I'm feeling rather  emotionally fragile tonight but hes still here!
