Day trip to Cumbrae

We drove down to Largs this morning and took the Calmac ferry over to Cumbrae, a journey of 8 minutes! I haven’t been there since I was a teenager when I went across with a group of friends to cycle round the island. Today, this is still the number one activity and there were queues outside of both cycle hire shops. 
We had the car with us so drove the 10 miles round the island, had a walk around Millport, fish & chips for lunch then headed back to the ferry. It was a spur of the moment decision to go  to Cumbrae today and interesting to see the island again, it did feel like stepping back in time to a simpler age.
