Curzon Ashton 1 Banbury United 2

My first visit to the Tameside Stadium to see Curzon Ashton lose at home to Banbury United. On a day when Coventry were not playing it was good to discover that one of our former players - Adam Barton - was in central defence for "the Nash" and that another - Andy Whing - is now the manager of Banbury United.

Earlier Peter and I went for a walk around Stalybridge Country Park before taking refreshments at the Stalybridge Station Buffet.  Near to the station are two pubs with contrasting names - the very short "Q" and the very long "The Old Thirteenth Cheshire Astley Volunteer Rifleman Corps Inn."
