Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza

Worried about carbon emissions, you say? Giving up your petrol car for electric to save the environment? Good chap...

I took the bike - I think she's called Ruby - out for a decent sixteen mile circuit earlier this morning and then, after lunch, I took Morrigan out for a delightful sixty mile circuit - over to South Cerney for the Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza.

It's an excellent fair, with all the traditional stuff... Wurlitzers and steam powered Barrel Organs, Ferris wheels and heater smelters. Also traction engines, fire engines, stationary engines and every kind of bus and lorry and motorcycle... they even had a BSA Aerial 3 like I once owned (oh the shame of it).

The best ride has a reason, and it was fun to blast through the Cotswold countryside where the last of the harvest is being taken on - not, it had to be said, by steam power.
