Dreich!!

There wasn’t any fog this morning just rain, which was meant to ease off during the day.  Very optimistically we decided to go for breakfast and then try to deliver some of the Meadowbank brochures.  We had a delicious breakfast at a café we’ve been to a handful of times before, but were saddened to learn that today was its last day.  It is closing as the lease came up for the renewal and the rent was going up to such an extent that it wasn’t viable to keep trading.

Breakfast over and the rain continued, so we decided to return home and get on with other things.  Instead of easing off, the rain got worse and worse and worse.  At least we got some things done at home that we’d been putting off.  

We did go out to pick up the open home signs and took Mum with us for the drive, which she appreciated, despite the rain.  Afterwards we went over to have a drink and spend some time with her.

Today’s blip is a photo of breakfast - Eggs Benedict with mushrooms and caramelised onions.  Absolutely delicious.  I’ve also included the lovely stained glass window in the café, although I did include it in a collage on 11 July last year (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2860818295324410692).  I thought it was fitting to blip it again, given it’s the café’s last day. 

There are 3,302 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 5,441 compared to 7,183 last Sunday. The number of people in hospital is 606, including 16 in ICU.
