Fairy Handkerchief

That's what my grandpa used to call them.  They are the web of the funnel spider who waits in the hole on the right for an insect to land on the web, then he springs out and captures his prey.  I've seen that happen only once and, unfortunately, I didn't have my camera to hand. This is the time of year when spiders become very active and I enjoy looking for their intricate webs.  One more really hot day and then relief is on the way!!!  More info on funnel spiders here...
