Still in contention

The duck race is always the closing event of the Colintravie Village Fete and I blipped it on the same day twelve years ago, noting that there have been some years when there wasn't  enough water in what was the old mill stream to propel the plastic ducks down under the bridge. 

Although other areas are suffering a drought, that is not true of the West of Scotland  this year so  these competitors ,  out in front, weren't in any danger of grounding, but they did need to separate themselves out, which of course happened as the current drove them against the first little rickle  of stones narrowing thei way through to the finishing line.
