Happy Hols Day 1

We had hoped to pack yesterday but that was never to be with worky things needing to be put to bed. I put the out of office reply on my five work email accounts at 7pm.

So, today was packing. Dd had made us write a great list last night so nothing was forgotten as we put everything into two trolley bags including Yahtzee kit and portable music speaker.

We managed to get the 14.25 hrs train from Barcelona Sants station which took us 90 minutes later to Blanes which is the very, very start of the Costa Brava.

We are here for a week and can’t remember the last time we checked into a hotel for that length of time. Blanes is an honest sea side town overlooked by the rich of Barcelona but provides us with a quick and easy disconnect. We booked on a whim last month when we were up for lunch which turned into an overnight stay.

This shot taken on our first humid but overcast walk out. It shows figures dancing the Catalan sardanas. Now, back to the hotel for dinner which is part of our ‘half board’ deal! I expect a glass of tomato juice as a starter.
