Tick tock

This is the mechanism from Grantown on Spey Town clock- now on display in Grantown Museum. The town clock was situated in a clocktower which formed part of Grantown's Orphanage - a handsome building overlooking the Square and the first orphanage in the Highlands.This mechanism was in use from 1823 until 1975 when it was replaced by an electric clock.
