Hot Poppies

This morning I went to our last ukulele class this term. 
This afternoon I had some admin to do and  a parcel to send my Mother. As I returned from the post office I spotted these Californian Poppies (Eschscholzia californica) flowering outside a neighbour's house. They seemed to be just the perfect colour to represent  yet another hot day.
