Aperture on Life

By the Light of the Silvery Moon

I'm not an insomniac but nights with little sleep are, for work, a habit. When I saw this sight at 3.15 am, I couldn't let it slip. There was nothing I could do other than get out the camera.

I wasn't lying awake thinking about what to blip for my 500th. In truth, I've just seen 499 entries at the side as I type this. It's strangely fitting and as beautiful as the whole Blipfoto experience. As this moon, sheds light on the countryside, this site sheds light on a world of visual experiences. No two moons are identical, and neither are two photographs on Blipfoto. It's simply awesome. I'm proud to take part alongside so many superb photographers adding their images day by day.

I don't believe I ever succeeded in keeping a diary for more than a couple of weeks. Looking back at my entries here, my only regret is not finding Blipfoto before I did. Events and memories, that would have been lost in time, come flooding back with each image.

I've had to stand back and my time for commenting has drastically reduced but, each and everyone of you that I have met through my journey, is special. Some of you I've met in person, others I can only imagine but, I feel I can relate to you all. I have no words to describe my appreciation for all the wonderful comments you leave and the incentive you give me. Thank you!

I'd like to make a special mention for one fellow blipper. Many of you will have followed Jillymint's journal. She is truly inspirational and still manages to post, albeit no longer daily, the most superb photographs. Jilly has made no secret of being terminally ill with a rare and little understood condition, Multiple system atrophy (MSA). Her son is preparing for the BC bike race a 7-day mountain bike race from Vancouver to Whistler from 29 June to 6 July. Please, take some time to follow the links. I hope you will join me in sponsoring him to raise funds for the MSA Trust.
