Painted Lady butterfly

This afternoon I went for a walk on LLynclys Common.  The got very hot which the butterflies liked and I counted nine different types.  My photo is of a Painted Lady, the first that I've seen this year.

It's amazing how creatures as fragile as butterflies can migrate all the way from North Africa.

I've really enjoyed watching the Commonwealth Games, I'll miss it now that it's finished.  Well done to all the athletes, a great display of skill, endurance and sportmanship.
