Walk around quarry

This carving of a lion’s head is one end of a bench at Ronez quarry in St Sampson’s, Guernsey. The bench is labelled a ‘Whispering bench’ for children and around the walk are various characters carved out of oak by an artist using a chainsaw from Wind in the Willows. They are extremely well done and I will post some another day.
The walk was the inspiration of Ronez and the characters were an idea by the local Lions Club with funding assistance from local business. Great views from the highest point and also interesting to see the depth of the quarry now.
