A cause for celebration

That's the last of the old gripper rods lifted and ready for the dump, along with the extraordinarily dirty stair carpet and underlay. All we have to do tomorrow is empty all the bedrooms and make sure the floors are clean for the new carpets arriving on Wednesday. 
Our trusty VAX multipurpose cleaner has been invaluable as usual. This is our third one after a lot of house renovations. We are dreading this one dying as they don't make them like that anymore. Mind you it has had a new motor and a new switch and we did buy it at our local hospice charity shop.
The other challenge is to take away some of the things we've imported to our daughter's house since moving  here  in April to do the renovations, so that she has space for her things arriving on Thursday. It's a pity the shed is already full. A couple of dump trips are on the cards.
