I had a good day today. I was meeting a friend of The Mate's at Larch Cottage Nurseries. It was A who introduced The Mate to the idea of Belgian Shepherds being a good dog to have and when he also got a Malinois, they walked them together every lunchtime. She had missed the funeral due to all the messing about over the date that we had to endure, and wanted to know all about what had happened.

We had coffee and cake and sat for 2 hours chatting.

In the afternoon I wanted to check out a different access to a viewpoint we use with students, only to find the road up to Haweswater was closed! We didn't want to use our Ullswater spot for various reasons so we headed off to a ford on Mungrisedale Common. "Road Close" Oh, for goodness sake! As it turned out, the workman had gone home and we could get through.

Thankfully, there is another route we can take to get there with our student on Wednesday.

So very sad to hear that Olivia Newton-John has died today at 73.
