SQUATTERS

It's Mono Monday and the theme is Juxtaposition......two or more things seen together that really should not be.

Many of my journal readers are aware that an American Robin (Turdus migratorius) decided to nest in the middle of one of my hanging flower pots already full of pansies.
~
One has to admire her ingenuity but nesting here made it impossible for me to water the pansies. The planter and the nest are in juxtaposition...nonetheless, she laid 4 eggs and managed to raise 3 of the chicks on the meager food she could find in the middle of a drought. It's bloody hard to find worms in dried out, browned out lawn...so bugs had to suffice.
