It wasn't that dark
My walk this evening began after the sun had dropped below the top of the hills to the west. But ist was still light even as I returned home. The power of our sight is that I could see the moon in all its detail, and at the same time, without consciously adjusting, i saw the clouds, the gaps between the clouds, the whiteness of clouds, the grey of clouds, and even the blue-grey of the unclouded sky.
But with an ISO of 6,400, my camera 'saw' the detail of the moon and consigned all else to near blackness.
This photo is quite unedited, except for what the camera does.
