Gymea Lily (Detail)
Tuesdays can be fraught but today went swimmingly until I was almost finished, at which point there was a power cut. The CEO blamed herself; she’d plugged in a floor heater and it blew the fuse. It was faster second time around, then I skived off for a walk along the river.
Gymea lilies are so tall they’re best photographed from a second or third floor. The flower spike is bigger than your head. This is a youngster, planted outside one of the new apartment blocks in Canterbury and pleasingly at eye level.
